Year 3 really enjoyed learning some hands on skills whilst also learning what life was like for their ancestors 10,000 years ago. Activities included:
– Primitive Firelighting
– Hunter Gatherer Shelters
– Ancient Bread Making
– Tool making and artefacts

Ancient Egypt

Changes in Britain from Stone Age to Iron Age

Y3 replicated stone circles using biscuits, and used the torch as the sun to show the seasons and when it was best to plant and harvest crops.

Final assessment piece

Group work to create the 5 periods we have studied.

We put them together to create a timeline and ‘walked through the periods’. 

Palaeolithic -> Mesolithic -> Neolithic -> Bronze Age -> Iron Age
