Healthy Heads at Ryhope Junior School
About Healthy Heads
At Ryhope Junior School, we work closely with the Healthy Heads Team, part of the Sunderland Mental Health Support Service. Healthy Heads is a team of specially trained practitioners who support children and young people with their emotional wellbeing and mental health in schools across Sunderland.
The team helps children develop positive emotional wellbeing, build resilience, improve confidence and self-esteem, and manage worries, anxiety or low mood. They provide support through whole-class activities, small group work, parent workshops and, where appropriate, individual interventions.
Healthy Heads also works closely with parents, carers and school staff to promote a whole-school approach to mental health, ensuring that children receive the right support at the right time. If concerns arise about a child’s emotional wellbeing, referrals to the service can be made through the school.
More information on the service and what can be offered can be found below. If you have any questions or would like to discuss potential involvement, please contact Mr Storey via the school office.
We are proud to work alongside Healthy Heads to help our pupils thrive both emotionally and academically.
